3 Locales

The Compaq Tru64 UNIX operating system supports the Korean locales shown in Table 3-1.

The ucs4 modifier indicates that UCS-4 is the internal wide character processing code. The classification information, however, is not provided for the full set of UCS-4 characters, but only for the characters defined in the Korean locale.

If you are using DECwindows Motif, you can choose the locale through the Language Menu of Session Manager. If you are using CDE, you can choose the Options option from the CDE login screen and then choose the Language submenu. The applicable locales are shown in Table 3-2.

3.1   Sorting Behaviour In Korean Locales

Beginning with the Compaq Tru64 UNIX V4.0 release, to prevent intermixing valid characters and undefined characters and to remove discrepancies between Korean locales, the DEC Korean locale and the Korean EUC locale have the same collating order, and all undefined characters collate after valid characters.
